Voluminous furnishings with custom details now present cigars and tobaccos, as well as fine pipes and lighters. <br /><br />The natural visual effects and velvety look and feel of elegant, oiled American walnut underscore the notion of tobacco as a noble product, and support the enjoyment of it. And clear materials such as white, high-quality laminate, satin glass, and the most modern lighting technology work together to provide a contemporary look and feel. The ambient is enhanced with clear forms and a lounge area that provides a view of the accessible humidor, with its impressive cigar selection. A relaxed and integrated leather seating arrangement offers a location where the cigars can be sampled. The interior is rounded out by a natural-looking fine stone floor. <br /><br />The products are presented to the customer on the walnut product wall, which extends through the overall space, over a large surface. In addition, a selection of products is presented in the storefront windows. The other products are in the drawers, which house the majority of the products. Leather drawers contain and present high-quality lighters, and the drawers have individually-adjustable dividers made of the finest wood. <br /><br />Along the entire product wall, there are retractable panels with soft leather surfaces for the products, which can be made invisible when not in use, by simply pushing them into the paneling. Just another presentation accent that enables the customer to be provided with the best information and advice on the products. <br /><br />Along the shopwindow front, show cases provide a presentation surface for special products from the Breuninger Classic product range.....<a href="http://www.d-arch.de/interior-design/details/?id=15"><b>more</b></a>

Whilst the treatment to the main house was relatively traditional the basement was to change to a contemporary styling and have a similar quality and luxury demonstrated in the upper floors. <br /><br /><b>Response </b><br />The Client brief for the leisure area was to include a spa bath, sauna, steam room and multi-purpose gym. Much thought was given to the layout, a restricted space both in plan and available height. Wet facilities were contained in two linked areas and the gym separated by a glass partition. Great care was taken to accommodate all the required plant equipment and to ensure ventilation, electrical, audio and visual equipment were integrated within the design.<br />Considerable research into sourcing specialist suppliers and installers that provided facilities generally used commercially but that could be adapted for a domestic environment. A restricted finishes palette was proposed that would ensure a light open space and had reference to the rich quality materials used in the main house. Many bespoke joinery items carefully detailed provided required storage and housing for specialist audio and media equipment that integrated within the structure and fabric of the space. <br /><b> </b><br /><b>Outcome </b><br /><br />Meticulous planning utilising every available corner has allowed this area to blossom into a light open space. Variable lighting that allows for a variety of mood settings, integrated sound and media equipment, rich materials of natural stone and timber now combine to provide a luxurious indulgent facility that would equally be appropriate if found in a top-end hotel. Such places superpose their condition as an infrastructure adapted to the commercial, informational and social flow of the road network on mythical scenarios taken from road movies and literature. In recent years, their structures have evolved in order to offer services for large-format events without this having involved anything more than a change in scale. The project rose to the challenge of changing this trend by building a structure capable of managing a programme subject to constant reorganisation, with the presence of a heterogeneous public and the expectation of diverse uses, a flexible space capable of setting itself up as a scenario for almost any type of activity. In between a solid concrete structure we designed a flexible office concept where the industrial character melts in with the ultimate flexible interior. Every day the wooden tables (made by old telephone poles) are towed by large industrial motors to the ceiling, which gives the opportunity to use the area different after working time and in the weekends: expositions can be held, clinics, courses or maybe a good party.<br /><br />The used materials refer to the old industrial atmosphere in the building and on the quay. The transparent façade gives the office a good exposure and a good view to the old city centre. The closed side of the area is used as a facility-wall. All the supporting functions (toilet, copy area) are shaped in a sculptural white wall made by waltzed steel car doors. Every evening the tables and the computers disappear in the white acoustic ceiling landscape with Led lighting. This space is transformed into a parking garage with two stories of offices on top. Because of privacy to the surrounding gardens daylight only enters the building through new roof lights. By keeping the floor free from the façade and by introducing big voids also the underlying office floor is provided of sufficient day light en nice sightlines between the stories are created.
